Why do we not recommend using employer sponsorship as a way to obtain Slovenian residence?

First, it is important to clarify a concept: False employment or so-called work attachment residence is considered illegal throughout the European Union!

What is false employment for residency?

False employment refers to individuals who wish to live in Slovenia by affiliating themselves with a local company through an intermediary and obtaining a fake job in order to achieve permanent residence in Slovenia.

What are the risks and dangers of false employment?

1. The affiliated company found by the intermediary may not match your previous work experience, and this could raise doubts during the immigration office's review of your work experience, potentially leading to the rejection of your long-term visa application. The employer company is likely to be a "shell company" that has no business premises or economic activities and is solely established to assist illegal immigrants in obtaining residence permits, making it more susceptible to scrutiny.

2. Slovenia has precedents for cracking down on false employment for illegal immigration. If an applicant for a long-term visa is suspected of false employment, the immigration office will reject their request for a long-term visa and may even face the punishment of being deported along with their family.

3. Due to the lack of a genuine employment relationship, clients have limited control over the employer. If the employer changes their mind midway, clients not only face financial losses but also difficulties in finding another job, signing a new employment contract, and paying social security contributions. Failure to do so will result in the inability to extend their residence. Pursuing an international lawsuit is both time-consuming and costly, and both the employer and the client will face legal penalties.

4. Even if you have successfully obtained residence, if the intermediary company that assisted you in false employment immigration goes bankrupt or its main responsible person disappears, or if the employer company collapses and the immigration office discovers all client information, you may face the punishment of having your residence revoked, being blacklisted from permanent residency in the European Union, or even facing criminal charges.

You can easily find cases of false handling and investigations related to false employment by searching for various Chinese immigration companies around the world. The European Union has zero tolerance for obtaining residence through false employment, and regardless of the final outcome, clients inevitably become victims. Just because nothing has happened today or in the past does not mean that incidents won't occur in the future. By choosing the illegal path of false employment, which includes employer sponsorship programs, you need to understand that there is a structural risk that may persist for the next 5 years, 10 years, or even longer.
